Billy Joel, one of music's all time iconic figures, is hitting the highways of the U.S. yet again. The singer/songwriter, whose live events have been dazzling audiences for over thirty years, has begun the North American leg of his 2007 tour. After kicking off the year by performing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl in Miami, Joel is currently scheduled for nineteen live concerts nationwide, with more to follow. This newest set of performances represents a continuation of the highly successful tour that began in January of 2006, taking Joel around the world to locations such as Europe, Japan, Australia, and South Africa. The highlights of the tour to this point include a stretch of twelve sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City, as well as the singer's 22nd career appearance at the Hartford Civic Center in Hartford, Connecticut. A compilation of performances from the New York shows was put into a 32-track live album entitled 12 Gardens: Live, and was released in June of 2006.

In recent years, Joel has traveled the collaborative road, participating in many co-headlining performances with songwriting legend Elton John. The two "piano men" have often had their styles compared, a tribute to the unique melodies and relatable lyrics employed by both. Because of the rapport developed between John and Joel, the events were of consistent success. This, more than anything, may be the reason that the current tour is Joel's first as a solo performer in over seven years. However, it appears that Billy has not lost a step, achieving personal milestones and record crowds over the last year.

Billy Joel's tour is coming to cities around the U.S. over the next several months. As part of a swing through the southeastern United States, the next show will be at the Colonial Center in Columbia, SC on Valentine's Day, February 14th. Immediately following are performances in Greenville, SC on the 17th, Nashville, TN on the 21st, and Charlottesville, VA on the 23rd. After multiple shows in the South, Billy will also be making a swing through the Midwest, ending in St. Paul, Minnesota on May 9th.

In a brilliant promotional move, the beginning of the current tour leg has been coordinated with the release of Joel's new single, "All My Life," his first new pop release since 1993. The song, which was written as an anniversary gift to Billy's wife Katie Lee, will be available on iTunes beginning on February 20, 2007. Get your tickets now!
