Since hatching in 1933, the Philadelphia Eagles have stumbled and soared their way to becoming one of the most exciting teams to watch in the NFL. It was the Eagles who in 1935, after a disappointing debut, originated the idea of a college draft in order to seize the best talent; the strategy eventually led to successful recruitment and three NFC championship titles between 1948 and 1960. Their 1960 win dealt rivals Green Bay Packers and their star, Vince Lombardi, a shocking loss –the only championship loss of Lombardi's career.

For the next two decades, championship titles would elude the Eagles until 1981, where Coach Dick Vermeil watched his birds glide into Super Bowl XV. They would lose to the Oakland Raiders, 27-10, and success would dodge the Eagles wingspread until 1986, when reputed tough guy Buddy Ryan was named head coach. With Ryan's no-nonsense approach and the emergence of Randall Cunningham – a quarterback who could pass and run – the Eagles quickly gained a reputation for being a team of tough players with an impenetrable defense.

The 90's saw the Philadelphia Eagles build on that tough reputation and they reemerged at new heights in the millennium with consistently top-notch performances from quarterback Donavan McNabb and charismatic, yet controversial receiver Terrell Owens. Their powerhouse performances led to a 2005 NFC championship win and a seat in Super Bowl XXXIX, though they lost to the dynasty of the New England Patriots, 24-21. After Terrell Owens's much-talked-about move from the Eagles to the Dallas Cowboys for the 2006 season, the longstanding rivalry between the two teams will undoubtedly heat up in the seasons to come.

The energy from high-profile contests, like those between the Cowboys and the Eagles, are amplified during matches at the Eagles new bird-house, Lincoln Financial Field. This state-of-the-art facility houses 70,000 seats, 172 luxury suites, and 308 concession stands. With more bathrooms and a bigger and better big screen, bird-watchers can observe a tremendous game no matter where they sit in the Eagles proud venue. Their exciting game experience is energized by the Eagles Pep Band, performing lively music and leading the Eagles Fight Song before kickoff. Also performing for thousands of fans at Eagles games are the Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders; these chicks, plumed in Vera Wang uniforms, entertain fans with an energetic mix of traditional and contemporary choreography and cheers.

The next Eagles season, led by one of the most successful head coaches in recent NFL history, Andy Reid, hosts an attractive lineup of matches in Lincoln Financial Field, including Prime-time contests with some of its greatest rivals.
