Their prices may not be as good as ticketsmyway.com, but these guys might be able to help:

Darned if it wasn't the strangest thing I had ever seen. Over two hundred people were crowded into the Apollo Theater wearing outfits reminiscent of the roaring 20's. Guys tended to favor gangster outfits, along with semi-automatic rifles, and hats tilted so precariously I kept expecting them to fall off ? but hey, they must have had they pinned to their heads! The gals weren't as predictable. From showgirl outfits that revealed more than they covered, to prim-and-proper school marm outfits, they flitted and flirted their way around the overheated and overstuffed ballroom.

The event planners overdid themselves. If I hadn't arrived in a rundown 1980's Buick (okay, I'm cheap; what can I say?), I might have forgotten what era I was living in. Well, that and the fact no one warned me it was a masquerade. (The door guards almost didn't let me, until I flashed my handy dandy camera and convinced them I was with the press.) The walls were painted lime green, crystal lamps lined the walls, and long tendrils of sickly sweet incense floated around the room undoubtedly intended to hail back to the threat of prohibitionists bursting into the room and smelling the liquors. Although cigar and cigarette smoke would have been a more accurate depiction, it would have violated too many local codes and perhaps warranted a real police raid!

The party started at 7:00 pm and the last stragglers (I confess to being one of them) didn't leave until after 3:00 in the morning. If not for the face masks, I might have been able to name names, but alas, everyone was having too much fun staying anonymous! So by the end of the evening, I suspect I chatted with at least three local celebrities, and seven politicians. Too bad they never confirmed my guesses.
