Time is winding down and the moment I have been waiting for is soon approaching. There has not been this many butterflies in my stomach since my first love, but that is another story. Uh…the lights are dimming and the curtains start to spread as music forcefully penetrates the heart of the speakers by the live bands’ tinkering of their instruments. Dancers glide across the stage with a glimpse of what is soon to come. Showtime….The main attraction, Mary J. Blige, emerges through the mist and asks us to do what it is we came to, "Share her world."

I must say I have been to many concerts, plays, and music event; but until this day I had never felt so connected to every performance as I did with this one. Between knowing all the words and not just knowing, but actually being able to live those words and feel as if she hand selected each one from the book of my life. From the adolescent daydreams of her first album of finding that "Real love" through the woman that would soon emerge through the hurt proclaiming "No More Drama" and "Take me as I am." The sincerity of each experience and passion behind those tears made every dollar worth it. I felt as if I should have contributed more.

I have purchased every CD and listened to each one so many times on repeat, but to actually be there and listen to the words being belted out with so much conviction is like nothing I can experience on wax. The live music is so much more soothing and guides the movement of the many dancers jigging as if it were their last.

Just like that…..the experience has left me pleased and anxious for our next encounter. Each melody was as orgasmic as it was rhythmic. Each word was as skillful as it was innocent. And to her I say…….Thank you!
